What you need to know before your next Jet Ski Rental...
You’ve seen it at very Waterfront Vacation Destination worldwide - Jet Ski Rentals. PWC Rentals are one of the most popular Water sport activities there is. Any coastal location you go you'll find them there and its because of the lightweight, easy storage and simple operation that makes them so popular at any age.

Laying there on the Beach you stare out at the Jet Ski’s racing back and forth asking yourself, where is that thatch hut cause I want rent one? You find it and throw on the life jacket and off you go for one Exhilarating hour of jumping, racing spinning and relaxing. There is something about squeezing the throttle all the way to the handle and watching as the Beach becomes a blur!
A Jet Ski is just that - a JET;
ever been on one? Well here's your chance. Whether on Vacation or near home here are some Jet Ski Rental Tips to go by: - The Renter –
before you throw down the money check the operation out first. Ask around. Usually these Jet Ski providers are affiliated with a Hotel or a Resort; this is a good place to start. Speak to the Concierge or the Front Desk about the Jet Ski Renter, they’ll be more honest then you think. Also word of mouth is a good reference. Check out Trip Advisor or other Social Travel Media that provide Guest feedback.- Take a look –
walk over to the Jet Ski Renter and watch how they do business and run their operation. Are they Friendly and in Uniform? Jet Ski’s look clean and new? Are they offering the proper
Safety equipment and instructions?
This observation alone will tell you a lot! If all looks on the up and up Go For It!- Rental Fee –
now that you’re ready, let’s chose how much time you want to spend out on the Water. You can go out for either Half-an-Hour or a Full-Hour. Half-an-Hour costs approximately $30 to $50 and a Full-Hour is about $80 to $95. These prices are inclusive of tax and fuel. Gratuity is separate and can be offered at 10% to 15% of the Rental Fee.- Payment –
if you are staying at the Hotel or Resort where the Jet Ski Renter is affiliated with charge the rental fee to your room. This way if you are not satisfied with the service you can speak to the Hotel or Resort directly. Not many spots accept credit cards so be sure to bring cash. If International bring their currency; this way there will be no exchange rate conflict. - Before heading out on the Water –
if you have personal items you want to leave on shore such as shoes, shirts, watch, wallet, etc… ask for lockers that you can have the key too. There is a storage compartment on the Jet Ski where you can keep this key. Or leave your stuff with someone else your with or if your staying at the Hotel or Resort bring your items to the room for safe keeping, just don’t forget your room key! - Instructions –
if you are not familiar with handling a Jet Ski be sure the Renter offers easy to understand instructions (Free of course).- Take a passenger –
you can always bring someone along for the ride. Kids especially love this!!- While on the water –
ask what are the boundaries while out on the Water. They will have land marks or markers in the Water that you’ll have to stay within. Ask how you’ll know when you time is up if you have no watch with you. Some Renters will either have a timer on the Jet Ski or they will come out to get you.- The last thing to do is to HAVE FUN!
