Like we promised, let’s look at the differences between a Boat versus a PWC:

• Let’s start with pricing -
average cost of a new Boat (length from 15 foot to 24 foot with single engine) - $13,000 to $50,000 versus a Personal Watercraft at $6,000 to $15,000. BIG Advantage PWC.

• Does Size Matter –
Boat can carry any where from 6 to 12 people (do you have that many friends?) versus a PWC 2 to 3 people (that’s cozy!). Advantage, hmmm, guess it depends on you! But we like COZY.

• Engine –
Boat has a outdrive or shaft with a Propeller so it’s Draft (meaning how deep the boat sits in the water) can easily hit bottom in shallow areas where as a PWC has Jet Power with NO propeller and very low Draft allowing the PWC to go places the Boat cannot. Advantage PWC!

• Fuel –
put 6 to 12 people in a Boat and watch the Gas Gauge drop every time you hit the throttle versus a PWC where just you and the water are ONE and 0-60 is faster then most exotic sport cars with minimal fuel consumption compared to the Boat. Gallons Per Hour (GPH) is half of that of a Boat. Advantage PWC!

• Water Sports –
a Boat can pull a Water Skier or a Wakeboarder or a Banana or a Tube or anything else that can be tied up and pulled plus of course Fishing but so can’t a PWC. PWC’s can pull all the same Water Sport Activities as a Boat can plus Fishing isn’t a problem either. Take your Fishing Pole and go into places where a Boat can’t; explore new and exciting Fishing holes! Advantage – no one it’s a Tie!

• Storage –
Boats like a PWC need a trailer (unlike those fortunate enough to live on the Water). Boats need a larger Trailer if you can’t storage the Boat at your home (damn home owners association!) then you’ll need to rent space some where (other expense) versus PWC where the Trailer is smaller and can fit in a garage or in a car port (take that home owners association!) so you do not have to rent space. Advantage PWC!

As you see the PWC is a sensible Watercraft that can bring out the the Speed Racer in anyone. Getting out on the Water doesn't have to cost a fortune, the PWC is affordable and Extremely Cool! Contact your local Jet Ski Dealer for a test drive!
